Rights from God.
Power from the People. District 61 deserves a Republican statesman, not another politician.
I’m running for the Missouri House because Missouri needs Republican leaders who work for the people who build this country, not those who profit from the government.

Contract with District 61
A Solemn Pledge to the People of Gasconade, Montgomery, Osage, and Miller Counties
For too long, politicians have made promises and abandoned them the moment the oath was administered. Not here. I am not asking you to trust a campaign slogan. I am putting my word in writing and handing you the receipt. If I break any commitment below, I will not seek re-election to the Missouri House of Representatives, and you will hold this pledge as proof of exactly what I promised and exactly what I owe.
I, John Grady, candidate for the Missouri House of Representatives, District 61, do solemnly pledge:
I will answer to District 61 first...not party leadership, not Jefferson City, not the donors. When the interests of this district and the interests of the powerful collide, I already know whose side I'm on. You sent me. You can send me home.
I will reject PAC money...and file legislation tracing every PAC dollar in Missouri politics to its original source.
I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States and the State of Missouri... every time, not just when it's convenient.
I will fight to eliminate Missouri's income tax the honest way...my plan cuts it sooner while protecting the Constitution. No new taxes. No sales tax expansion. No shortcuts. Real cuts. Real numbers. Zero.
I will file the Mortgage Payoff Homestead Exemption...when the final payment is made on your home, the taxes end. I will defend the property rights that make ownership real...your land, home, and labor are yours, not the government's.
I will oppose corporate welfare in all its costumes...abatements, subsidies, and special rate schemes that force families to underwrite corporations. The government should not be picking winners and losers.
I will fight for Missouri First...enforce Missouri procurement preference, defend farmland assessment based on productivity, and oppose every regulation written by lobbyists and the politically connected to crush their competitors. Missouri-owned businesses, big and small, will have a defender.
I will defend the Second Amendment without apology and work to remove government overreach..."shall not be infringed" is spelled out pretty clearly.
I will not vote to expand abortion or fund any abortion provider...because life begins at conception, and I will fight to clearly define personhood and medical conditions to stop the continued back and forth. Until we say who counts as a person, the unborn remains protected.
I will give you straight answers... every vote explained, in plain language, on the record. And District 61 will have the tools to engage its government directly.
I will serve no more than two terms. Politicians, like diapers, need to be changed often...and usually for the same reason.
This is not a legal document. It is a pledge... and a man who needs a courthouse to make him keep his word never intended to keep it. I will sign one copy for the record, and any constituent of District 61 who asks will receive a copy.
Veteran Leadership for Missouri House District 61
I’ve spent my life building things that last.
First as a United States Marine. Then as a Navy Seabee with deployments in Iraq and missions around the world. Later rebuilding communities after disasters like Hurricane Katrina.
Today I’m a small farmer and business owner in rural Missouri. My wife Kara and I founded Slaphappy Beverage Company LLC, producing hemp-derived products for customers across the country. Through our initiative A Thousand Ripples, we provide free cannabinoid therapies to veterans and cancer patients who need them most.
I’m running for the Missouri House because Missouri needs Republican leaders who work for the people who build this country, not those who profit from the government.
Rights from God. Power from the People.
Three Messages Driving John's Campaign
I will give you straight answers. Not bureaucratic language, not misleading talking points, not decisions hidden behind process. If I vote for something, I will tell you why. If I vote against something, I will tell you why. You deserve to know exactly where I stand and what I am doing in Jefferson City on your behalf.
Constitutional rights do not have an off switch. I will not vote for an unconstitutional bill because my party wants it, because a lobbyist pushed it, or because it sounds good in an election year. The Constitution is not a suggestion. It is the standard. Full stop.
You should not be taxed out of a home you already paid for. You should not watch your tax dollars flow to special interests while your roads and schools go underfunded. If government wants more of your money, it should make that case openly and let you decide — not hide the ask in a shell game.
